Post by Vanish on Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:37 pm

I Picked up this No Door Back In 09 off the net ... Vanishing breed .. Was the one Who Spotted it first ..He Passed on it So I Grabbed it ..... We HAVE NAMED THIS VAN '' CAN'T A FORD IT ''

As Soon as I got it Home .. I ripped out the 30 Year Old Interior ...

So Then Donivan Came up and Got the Slot Mag's Off of it .... There was a Wheel Lock on every Stud ... Five Locks Per wheel .... I Guess that Guy didn't want them Slot Mags Going any were with Out the Van .......

Did some welding and Grinding on the New Front and rear End .......

And Don Came up and Helped Pull the old Front end Off !!!!!!!!!!!

So we Got the springs Off the Old axel ... Now and we are Building our spring stack ..... as soon as we Get More Done I will update with Pictures !!!! we Ran out of weather for Now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had 3 econos (1 Falcon van) back in the '70's. All had a lot of play in the steering. I was shocked how much tighter the steering on the G10 was when I got my '65 .

351C and a C6, I gave him a price that I'd pay and he said no-way. Then 2 months later he called me to see if I still wanted it. I didnt have the room to keep it then so I passed on it. And the rest is history as they say. He said that that engine was somewhere upwards of 400hp+ and that the van would do wheelstands at will.

Speaking of '65's, Donivan, why don't you turn loose that blue '64 to me? You don't really need two do you? Smile

That is Vanishes' 1964 Chevy Blue No Door,,,,,,,,,He brought it over to me to work on it in my spare time,,,,,,,,and 3 years later, I gave it back. Right now, He pulled the PowerGlide out of it and put in a TH350,,,,,,,I am building up a driveshaft , shift linkage and kick down cable bracket for it. I only got my one red 65 Chevy Van,,,,,,,same one that I have had since 1970 and 500,000 miles ago..........

1st Choice - No door
2nd choice- Panel with only back windows

It'll get paneling, a rubber floor and possibly a fold down bed on drivers side.

Oldsmobubble, Here's one much closer and I have talk to the owner. They also just lowered the price.

http://savannah.craigslist.org/cto/2205540235.html

They just lowered the price to $2500 and After talking to them I bet if you offered $2000 cash they would bite.....
