That'll be because there won't be any gear-heads around that can translate the English shop manuals to Chinese Laughing

midadio does such awesome work, the early I`m boulding for the
wife has a 73 corvette 350 with centerbolt valvecover heads
and a tuned port sys off of a 91 firechicken with its 700r4,
can`t wait to get it running, but that is a ways down the road.
I have been thinking about a power rac and pinion steering
    sys for this van.

Boy are you in luck,,,,,,,,this guy here lost an arm so he takes an Astro Power Steering unit and adapts it to his 69 ,,,,,,,,,,minor problem with the pitman arm on the wrong side, but a couple of gears set things straight,,,,,,,

It just goes to show you that nothing is going to stop a guy from driving his van,,,,,,You ought to do a new post in the G-VAN BETWEEN THE SEATS,,,,,,,call it 92 Astro Van Fuel Injection Kit,,,,,,list the parts you used and a little info on some of the modifications,,,,,nothing fancy,,,,,the throttlebody,,,gas tank,,,sensers,,,ECM,,,,module,,,,,,,distributer mods,,,,,,just something that we can keep track of what happens,,,,,,I think you got the beginnings of what the future holds for the Earlys,,,,,,,

Astro's came with 700 R4's I have had three of them over the years Don! My first was in 85. I currently have a 94 SLX Safari and just got rid of a 93 CL Astro. I have gotten well over 200 K on each of them! Great little vans.

the owner of this van was having trouble with carbs.
he would buy a remaned one and would only get 6 months
of service out of it, and it was always flooding after a good
heat soak, and the vapor lock problem was always there.
So I suggested that we look at converting it to the astro
4.3 tbi unit. He had an 83 g20 at home that had a rebuilt
700r4, so it all came togeather once we had the adapter
made, I had made one out of wood and gave it to the
machinist, he copied it out of aluminum.

If you got a 1976 or newer,,,,,you gots problems out here,,,,,,having to find good working emission parts AND having them ALL back on AND working each 2 years when you have to get a Smog test to renew your registration. The newer cars need to be tested while running on a Dyno. So the pre fuel injection vehicles 1976- 85 are dying out,,,,,,But that still is not the end of it,,,,,they keep wanting to go back further with the test ,,,,,,that will kill the hot rods if they have to return their vehicles to stock condition. And don't be throwing away all your left over 67 parts,,,,,the rest of the world still needs them. Like I was saying when they find that van in a garage 100 years from now and start reading the book about where the fuel pump should be or the points don't fit or it doesnt run right even with a another HEI distributor thats where they are going to find something special. And if gas gets over $10 a gallon,,,,,,,the days of carbureted vehicles will be numbered.

003, we used the original line as the return line to the tank
with slight modification, then plumed a 3/8 feed lline to the
fuel filter and then the tbi. A photo on the previous page
shows the lines going down the back of the engine and on
top of the trans to the trans crossmember in the van then
over to the right side frame rail back to the filter and then'
to the tank. The 88 g10 22 gallon tank is set up for the tbi
injection, thanks to midadio he showed us that it will fit in
our earlys. the 88 model year uses a 90 ohm sender so it
will work on 67 and later, the 66 and older will need some
custom work for the 30 ohm sender, unless you use a later
guage set up that used the 90 ohm gas guage.
this sys only has 13 lbs max pressrue to the tbi and
no pressure goin back to the tank jin the return line.
the only thing I wished the tank had was a smaller filler
neck our vans are 1 3/8 inch and the 88 g10 tank is 1 1/2 inch.
but radiator hose does work.the van with this conversion had it.
