started overhauling the brakes, for now going to keep drums all around.
ordered the master cyl adapter from industrial chassis and going to use a late 80's ranger master.
been looking around at some pictures and notice that alot of guys are using residual valves on the lines coming out of the master.
why would you need and if they are needed what size do you use? 2lb or 10lb??
like i said im gunna keep the drums for now and probly upgrade them in the spring to disc

The sign says that if you mount a master cylinder LOWER than the wheel cylinders or calipers,,,,,,,you need a 10 lb residual valve in the line to the rear and a 2 lb in the front calipers to hold back some brake fluid so that it does not flow back into the master cylinder so that it might take 2 pumps of the brake pedal to get the pedal height back up to normal,,,,,so we are talking about
brake pedal height,,,,,,,now in reality,,,,,,a person might not install them until they tested their brakes after installing front disks and screwing them in if they did not like the way their brake pedal feels,,,,,,,,,but more important would be to put an adjustable proportioning valve in that rear brake line to delay the fluid going to the rear drums, because rear drums tend to lock up before front disks kick in. On a real vehicle with front disks and rear drums,,,,there is a combination valve installed in the lines coming out of the master cylinder,,,,,,it combines the necessary proportioning, metering, check and warning light valves.....
