Hi to everyone at VintAGE -Vans ~
I'm new to your forum and an accidental vanner. I have a 1966 econoline window that I bought last Thanksgiving as my winter "beater". I wasn't actually looking for early van, I was looking for something utilitarian for when I need to haul something and to use in the winter( my summer transport is a bicycle).
After striking out on ten year old pickups(couldn't find anything worthwhile for under 8K), I just on whim expanded my search parameters to anything "truck" from 1960 to 1990. I just kind of stumbled on the 66 Econoline, it fit all my requirements (daily diver, utilitarian, and on the road for under 5K), and as bonus it has incredible visual character. So after driving my 66 for the last 6 months I'm absolutely hooked on these early vans. Looking forward to learning lots from all you V-V veterans. ~ Linoman, an accidental vanner.
