    1/2" foam flooring

I picked up about 100 sq/ft of this foam interlocking flooring at a garage sale for $4.

It will be perfect in the van covered with 1/8" mahogony plywood.

I plan to glue the plywood to the foam only so the whole thing can be removed from my van in one piece.

Will the foam trap moisture between it and the metal floor?

Are you going to seal the floor first?

Someone else had pics of there floor with bedliner on it, can't remember who, but anyway that would take care of any moisture.

That was probably me. I use it on all my floors. 1/8" plywood sounds way to thin. half inch or thicker would be better.

No I'm not going to use that foam bacause it is not "closed cell" foam so it will hold water. The newer VW camper uses 1/8" closed cel foam and 1/8" marine play wood over a corigated floor simular to the early floor. It lite and a litle flexable, priovides a cusion effect. I intend to use hard wood flooring glued to the plywood so it will be plenty thick in the end.
I think thick plywood is too much weight and unnessesary unless you intend to throw cylinder heads, engine blocks and other heavy junk onto it.

Check out J C Whitney's. I ordered the 48" x 72" (Item #QJ339988) for 60 bucks and was satisfied with the product in itself. But for me personally, I don't know: it fits between the wheel wells perfectly, but doesn't go all the way to the doghouse.
They have a 55" x 79" size (Item# QJ339989) for $70. Thing is, I didn't think about how heavy these good, dense mats are-my smaller one weighs at least 70 lbs.
I'm thinking about changing plans and going with their brush-on rubber kit; costs more, but lighter and will cover everything to the edges (I think). Then I'll just throw down an area rug for camping.

Sorry I didn't post links, I'm a newbie and still getting the hang of this site.

Thanks, great inspiration on here. I'm the proud owner of a 1966 Chev SportVan. Hoping to post my work after I'm done! Engine's done, just interior and body/paint. Saw a really nice paint job on a VW bus the other day-guy said he used Ace Hardware brand enamel and a roller (!!!)
