I bent my tierod awhile back and had to change it but am not sure how to find out the proper way to get the ram centered up when I clamp it to the tie rod.Afraid to turn the wheel with it unhooked.WILL BE GRATEFUL FOR ANY HELP

my service manual doesn't even mention power steering

You need to make sure the ram rod is in its center of travel when the wheels are straight. Start it up,,,,turn the wheel slowly,,,,,measure the length the ram goes out,,,,,1/2 way back is where straight ahead is. Or undo the lines on the ram, pull the rod out , measure the stroke, push it back in 1/2 way,,,,,set the wheels in the straight position, put the lines back on and bolt the ram to the center link,,,,,the steering timing will be right

I have to dig out the one I have.... I'll measure the distance from the end of the tie rod the the edge of the clamp and take a pic for you in the morning.

Sorry no luck... I have the damper and brackets, but the tie rod sleeve was bent and I must have sent it to scrap. You are back to the way don gave you to do it. Unless you contact Simon Robson on here. He is in england and has a van with power steering.
