A-100 doghouse seal? Empty A-100 doghouse seal?

Post by RodStRace Sun Jan 31, 2010 9:57 am

So I've found door seals, window track and whiskers, along with the windshield rubber.
Vent window rubber is listed, any feedback on vendors would be appreciated. I'm going to use the 68 doors from the parts vehicle, not the 66 doors.
Door lock seals and door handle gaskets seem to be available too. I've also seen front lense seals. Nothing yet on tail light seals, but they appear to be a common size.
It appears that the floor plates and the 2 triangles behind the seats used seam putty.
So aside from a couple other seals/grommets (steering column, speedo cable, shifter cable) that may be a common size, it looks like just about everything can be found. So the question is about the doghouse.
The sides and bottom should be easy with regular roll sealer, but what are you using for the lid?
I'd like to get together a shopping list so that when it's painted reassembly won't be held up by soft parts.

Dog house seal could be made from any type of compression material - foam or rubber etc

Mine is original, here's a link to a pic:

It's sort of a wedge shape, and it's attached to the lid, not to the doghouse itself.

My 1st Gen Chevy came with a 5/16" square piece of rubber glued to the cover,,,,,but it did not seal very good. So I got the door weatherstrip off a Chevy S-10 and it fits perfectly,,,,,only thing it is clipped over the lip of the doghouse bottom. So maybe you might try something like that.......
