2nd Gen doghouse cover seal

Hi all,
I bought this: https://www.steelerubber.com/engine-cover-70-3531-88 and am wondering if any adhesive to secure it to the peramiter of the lid.

I put mine on the doghouse itself, not the lid, held on by gravity. Also it gives your arm some padding when working in the doghouse, so you're not resting your elbows on the edge of the sheet metal.

I just used 3M contact adhesive and like sandyvan said glue it to the doghouse
