    First of all, I want to thank the members of this forum for helping me find my van; the craigslist links were a great help in my search. Late last year I had a latent desire to relive my mispent youth and started searching for one similar to the one I owned "back in the day". That one was an Alles-Chalmers Orange 1964 GMC 90" wheelbase van.
    It was equipped with a home built Z28 302 V8, an all sychro Saginaw 3 speed, 10x15 rear/8.5x15 front slotted mag wheels, L60x15 rear/E60x15 front tires, orange and yellow shag carpeting with wood paneling, bar, and bean bag chairs in the back. It was a very fast bread box 0-100 mph; aaaaaaaaaah the memories!

    The one I purchased (with your help) was listed on craigslist as a 1963 Chevy Van. My understanding is that the only thing GM offered in 63 was a Greenbiar Van.
    At first I did not open the ad, but later I did and found that it was indeed a 64 Chevy Van (mistitled by the state of WA). This one is also an Alles-Chalmers Orange 1964 Chevy 90" wheelbase van. It is equipped with a 307 V8 (cam, headers, performer intake, Holley carb, HEI, TH350, oil & trans coolers and "Zoomie" side pipes), 10x15 rear/8.5x15 Torq-thrust D mag wheels (pre 1970), 275R6015 rear/245R6015 front tires. The interior is a blank statement and it has straight rust free body(some surface rust only).
    Some of you may recall seeing this ad.

    Thanks again, 63chevyvan? Very Happy

    Pics forth coming, as soon as I take them and figure out how to post them.

    Bill, just North of you in the SW Portland area.

    The Van has been getting some TLC: rebuilt brake master/wheel cylinders, rear 3" lift kit removal, exhaust repair, missing bolt replacement, new grease fittings, wheel bearing grease pack, tire replacement, speedo/instrument housing resto, and so on.

    Digz, the VIN # is 4G125 P. Based on the best info I have that decodes as:
    4 = year
    G = Chevy Van
    12 = Std. Wheelbase
    5 = Panel
    P = Pontiac, MI

    G-Man, the Van has early 70's pick up mirrors installed. The passenger side was broken and one of the previous owners installed (cobbled) that mirror (brand unknown) onto the base that was left. New to forum Suspect

    Im' glad it's you with that V-8 ! Actually a good running 250 six is more than adiquite to power such a light truck . I've dione engine pulls on those vans and the 67 and earlier vans were absolurte night mares to wok on with the V-8 installed . Even when G M finially deciided to enalrge the motor box, ( JOKE ) , one still had to leave the heads off until the engine block was installed . Besided , in the south , who needs all that extra heat anyway. My 69 Chevrolet L W B was a decent ride until some jerk in Silver spring came out tof the parking lane going to Dee Cee and ruined the front end . Scrubba

    Srubba, I remember my 64 GMC had a hacked up Dog House modified with flattened coffee cans and duct tape. The V8 had headers and it leaked heat like a screen door. I made a plywood Dog House, lined it with aluminum sheet metal and mounted the stock cover.

    My new to me 64 Chevy came with sectioned and welded Dog House, so in the picture it looks stock but is wider by 6" on each side. New to forum Icon_cool
