1971 Barkas from eastern europe

Last week I spotted an other kind of vintage van. It's a 1971 Barkas B1000, this is the eastern germany communist version of our vintage vans. It has got a 1000cc, three cilinder 2 stroke engine placed between the seats just like my 63 econoline.

Of course I had to stop and make some pictures of this van.











Because american early vans are quite rare in europe, many people think my econoline is also from eastern europe.
