I'll remember 2009 as a good year even though it was also a tough year. Got married to an awesome woman... have custody of my 4 kids, just really have felt blessed with what I do have. The company I worked for went under and just sold to new owners and things are really looking up as far as work goes... 2010 will defiantly be a good year!!!!

Getting my wife to ride in the van for the first time lol and meeting some cool vanners. Stripping down the early. Appreciating my customers and employees.

Otherwise, just another year of sweating the details and trying to get my poop in a group. Smile

Bitter sweet,Work wise tough (still have a job) less income and harder and more stressful by far.The sweet part is the family is great(wife got 2nd gear scracth first time she drove the van),we welcomed 2nd and 3rd grandkids into the world.Van got to driver status in april and got to see some action.Economy wise this isn't over I just hope it takes a turn for the better for all of us. Still making concessions at work, (still have a job) taking unpaid days off. Selling off one hobby on ebay and selling a little fire wood to fund the '67. Met a lot of vanners this year, and looking forward to Milford next year.

Yup my full/part time job with health insurance is 32 hrs a week, then my part time job toy fund, is now bill money. Then theres the never ending homeowner woes. And not to forget towing and scrap metal and fire wood side jobs! My neighbor was asking me I never relax, Told her I'll relax when Im dead! Kinda looking forward to 2012!- NOT! I hope it goes over like Y2K! Good thing I didnt work in a power plant back then, Id still be locked up for shutting the power off at midnight when the ball droped!

I'LL REMEMBER 2009 AS: The year I spent collecting parts from near and far, redesigning the van, started tackling the body work and deciding on paint.... All in all a very busy year!!!

Moving to Fernandina Beach, Florida and retiring from the Army after 25 years. Finally having the time to start relaxing and doing things I have waited most of my life to enjoy.....

Personally it has been a pretty good year. Only had one heart attack and surgery on my shoulder. I have been blessed all my life. I have had six heart attacks, two strokes, hepatitis, malaria and tuberculosis as well as getting shot in the back twice by gang bangers, once in the leg and once in the chest by other gang bangers, wounded by a hand grenade in Nam as well as wounded three other times by mortars and ran over by a car when I was a kid. And 33 surgeries. God has always been with me and I give him all the credit for everything . He gave me a great wife (over 41 years now) three kids, three foster kids and 8 grandchildren Since I have a full 100% disability rating from the VA and my social security the economy meltdown hasn't effected me much.

2009 has been a sucky year for me. Work twice as hard for the same money everything is either costing more or getting taxed more. Business way off not alot of cash for the fun things (64). That being said even as sucky as its been I have it so much better than many people and I'm thankful for what I have gotten with this economy

2009 is a year of healing from the horrible year i had in 2008 and i am a lucky son of a gun to be healthy, unwealthy and a desire to be wise. so no complaints here for 2009 because it can always be worse...

and 2010 is gonna be a heck of a year as i am in the works of realizing and fulfilling a dream!!

i'm going to think positive and not be political, so i am thankful about the purchase of my 66 bugeye a100 dodge van this year one of America's great icons along with the other great vintage vans by gm and ford. it's is something i have admired as far as vehicles are concerned since i was a kid and has stayed a interest since than.new cars , trucks and vans are ok but these vintage vans will always turn heads and get tons of good comments.
