I talked to this guy at a West Marine on Midway drive in September. '13. 273 with an Auto, and it overheats on the freeway. he was thinking about selling it as he wants a van he can travel in. Scooby is not a van any more,,,,,,,his owner is not a vanner,,,,,he had it built for TV programs along with his other General Lee, Smokey the Bandit, The Delorean, Herbie, and all those other cartoon and TV vehicles he owns,,,,,,,but I got to admit, when people see that Scooby, they sure want to know what it is and that brings ALOT of attention to the rest of us owners of Vintage Vans,,,,,,,

Funny how things come around- in 2010, way before I ever thought I wanted (let alone own) a vintage van, I was on vacation in La Jolla, Ca and snapped this photo- just found it in my cell phone- 3 years later I can appreciate this van even MORE! Maybe someone here owns it....

The reason for this thread is to provide the most accurate count of Early Vans on the planet,,,,,this is the OFFICIAL Census of them,,,,,,ones that we actually see in our travels,,,,,,and as for that blue van seen in La Jolla,,,,,,that is the New York Van,,,,,,,imported to San Diego by VanAgain and renamed VanAgains New 65 Chevy SportVan Deluxe, then sold to Ben in La Jolla, then bought by the 65-G10-Guy in Los Angeles to switch out all the pretty parts onto his 65 G10 panel,,,,,,and when he is done,,,,it will be For Sale again........
