Hey guys I have been kicking around an idea. I was thinking of making a matching travel trailer from another old econoline that i have. Using the body for the shell but removing the drivetrain to make room inside and pulling it by a tongue. even moving the rear axle forward to balance the weight. what do you all think?

There is a picture of one being built in one of the other posts. I think it's a cool idea especially if your donor has been hit in the nose.

I would like to see the post, but mine is in great shape that is the only reason that I am still kicking around the idea I feel kinda bad about cuting one up. but I was thinking about sectioning the center out where the two doors are and making it kinda look like a short bus version.

I'm taking delivery of the Silver 63 panel this wknd that I had told people about a couple months ago while on my Mercury spree! I'm thinking that I may be salvaging the passenger floor section for Grimstone!
I don't know how much I will shorten it... that length doesn't look bad! But I don't want to use the nose... I want a smooth flat front, maybe lose the side door too (I know how someone will want it)... As a matter of fact, I think I will want the solid panel door for "Grimstone".
Chopping won't start until 2010 though.

Almost looks like it has a rear panel on the front... like I could relocate the side doors to the front, and bingo! Any more pics?

Got the silver one delivered this weekend! Recall it has a bad crack / bend between the front passenger spring perches. I haven't decided how short to make this as a trailer, but probably short enough to also become a good sheet metal donor for the other projects we have going on!
So "63Mercury", when you come to pick up the blue van, better bring your cutting tools,,, we may be chopping this silver one in half, so you demondog and I have some good sheetmetal patches! Cheers!
