Re: automatic tranny questions
You mean something like,,,,,,,someday in the far far future, people move into my house and in the middle of the night,,,,a buzzer comes on,,,,,they get up and find its coming from a closet,,,,and has a red light on it,,,,,it goes out in a few minutes so they go back to bed and call an electrician the next day,,,,he pulls the cover off and says there is no power to it and it might cost a lot to trace the wiring out,,,,,,So what can they do,,,,,is the house haunted by the ghost of donivan,,,,,,who they gonna call,,,GHOSTBUSTERS,,,,,the only thing they can do is do a way back search on Vintage-Vans for Feb 6, 2010 to find the answer,,,,,,so what is it?????

Re: automatic tranny questions
Ummmm. OK, I'll play.....
1 round momentary remote switch to start the backup generator and 3 ea. 12v emergency light switches and a remote mounted "Low fuel" buzzer speaker?
I have a few more idea's that are way out in left field but the whole "Closet" mounting just promotes a lot of stupid Homo jokes so I won't there....

Re: automatic tranny questions
Well there are 4 switches with lights in them,,,,and they are not energized during the day,,,,,,and they turn on anytime they feel like,,,,,they warn you,,,,,,like in this case if someone was messing with their car or trying to get in their garage,,,,,I wired a buzzer and a light to all 4 motion activated lights around my house,,,,,,so whenever something trips the sensor and the light comes on, a buzzer, and a light that tells me which light came on tells me or wakes me to let me know something is out there,,,,,,,,,I bet you can't this kind of Transmission information on other Van sites,,,,,,,

Re: automatic tranny questions
Very cool Donivan! I wired a similar setup for a good friend awhile back. A sheriff deputy had stopped by his home to inform him that break in's were taken place in his neighborhood. He was worried about his garage, so I wired up the same setup for him using motion sensors and wired it to a panel in his bedroom. Nothing better than a "Quiet" alarm system and catch them in the act!!!! IMHO

Re: automatic tranny questions
Don,
Care to share a quick diagram on how you wired it up? I'm really liking the idea...

Re: automatic tranny questions
Well I got 4 of those $10 motion sensor porch lights and put them on all 4 corners of my house. You got to wire those into the 110 house wiring. But then what you want to do is like add another bulb to the sensor in it. Or in my case a 110 volt buzzer,,,,,so run 2 wires from the buzzer to the wires that feeds the light bulb, which are probably black and white. I added lighted switches to the buzzer so I could turn off the buzzer when it is really windy out and it trips the motion sensor all night long,,,,,the lighted switch tells me which light outside is on. Even if they unscrewed the bulb or it burnt out, the buzzer still works,,,,and the photocell in the light shuts the whole thing down in the daylight.

Hmmmm,,,,I guess I am missing a 200-4R,,,,,,,they all fit our vans,,,,,4 of them with the hanging mount came out of vans,,,,,the 350 is my extra Chevy motorhome trans,,,,,,the 700R4 is to play with,,,,,the PowerGlide came out of the StorageVan,,,,,then was in the Blue No Door,,,,I got the 4 speed out of Pick a Part because you guys complained about letting it get away forever,,,,,,the 65 is my non synchro trans,,,,,and the 69 synchro 3 speed is going into my van,,,,,,I guess my van is pretty well set for life for a transmission,,,,,,,
