Aluminum, 5 pieces. I used 2 20" lengths of angle Iron screwed together and washers between them making a gap the width of the aluminum then clamped in a vise to make the bends hammered over. Spray glued the material to the pieces then pop riveted them together. The material is like used on speaker boxes I also used on window frames, doghouse, dash, etc.

FYI...
I was finally able to get time to test fit a new glove box door (this is busy time at work, much overtime).
The new door took care of the problem...
