Glad to hear that besides only a small annoyance the van ran good and you made it safe and sound.

Re: GMC Jacke's van
So one thing that happened along the trip up to WA is the antenna started to come off? Not sure if it vibrated or what happened. I am not sure how to fix it? But at least it did not fall off. I will see if it can be fixed.
I just returned from San Diego... finished getting my Mustang and Maxima on a transport. They arrived today in good shape. So happy to have all the vehicles but one up here. My 1957 Ghia is at the paint and body shop getting beautified.
Never use United Road transport they don't show up!

Well it is unusual to see nothing around you on the highway to the "big city" which is 22 miles south of my home. Coming from San Diego Ca, where you are always around other cars on any highway... almost any time of day or night. LOL
I am enjoying the solitude for now at least... I met some car enthusiasts yesterday and was invited to a car show about 20 miles east. I plan on attending the show for sure, at least to meet and see the cars and owners in these parts. Oh and show off my van of course! I will bet that mine will be the only VCV.

Re: GMC Jacke's van
Seems like a lot of for sale vans come out of that Northwest area...you might get surprised! We’d love to see some pics if you have time...

Jacke,
I was just kidding you. That's why I like rural Oklahoma, not much "hustle and bustle".

Re: GMC Jacke's van
Well I went to my first Washington show. It was interesting to see what cars and trucks were there compared to San Diego. I think more Rat Rods up here, and more 30's cars. Good mix of Chevy's a few Fords... one van. I was not too surprised. The Rat Rod next to me won Two trophy's, and it was very "Ratty"... which makes it even better! Had a saw blade on the top of windshield and the bottom of the front fenders. Bunch of different parts with a Spittoons and an old whiskey bottle for the over-flow. Take a peek...

Re: GMC Jacke's van
Thanks for the pics Jacke! Good to see you out mingling with your new neighbors. Maybe people in the crowd will be inspired by your van and start new projects. Surely there must be other vintage vans around…usually see plenty of listings in the Seattle area. Keep on Vannin!!!

I hadn't heard about the get together in Vantage. I live just a few miles south of there in the Yakima Valley.JackeFriend wrote:Well good to hear you are planning to retire soon. Re: GMC Jacke's van
I found it on FB under NW Vanning, I think it is mostly 3rd Gen type vans. It would be great to meet you, if you could come to it. The Beverly Dunes? I have never been there but I am going to come to this just to try to meet some local van people. I am going down Saturday around 11-ish, but the gathering is 29th-31st... Re: GMC Jacke's van
I will be getting the PS cylinder replaced this Thursday. It has a main seal leak, defective part I was told. I bought one made, welded and assembled in USA this time. Cost a bit more than the previous one which lasted less than a year! Only had a 3 month warranty. This one is 100% guaranteed. While in the shop I am having a new wiper motor and two speed switch installed. I just cannot get down under the dash to put that motor in anymore. My neck and shoulders have seen better days! Then I will be out until the first snow here in December? Not really sure yet! It is cold here about 40 is the daytime high...BBBRRRRR
