    64’ G-10 power windows Empty 64’ G-10 power windows

    I have a 64’ G-10
    Thinking of installing power windows
I’m looking for a company that has a kit that will fit
I have spoken with Brothers trucks he didn’t think it would fit my application. Is there anyone that has done this and knows of a company
that sells a power window kit. And are there any problems with installation
Any help would be much appreciated
       Thanks

Hi Stuart... there are no kits that I'm aware of. I have had my doors apart and took the opportunity to make observations and comparisons to what was available at the time (a few years ago). I recall thinking that IF I had an extra door (and regulator) to "goof around" in the corner of my garage, I'd go junk-yarding and or try an alike kit to figure it out. It was then that I decided that manually operated windows are quaint.....and add to the character of our vans. I have constructed a remarkable sequence of hand signals that can convey to someone (outside on the passenger side) that I cannot electrically operate the window.

    Hi.

I can confirm that that kit does not work. Bought it last year for my '68 108 as I couldn't find a regulator. I had just bought the van, and as this is my third G I've owned,  I thought to myself "heck,  I bet I could do that."

The angle that the track needs to go up and down and the clearances that are there are pretty miniscule.  You wind up having to disconnect the motor from the track, as it actually says you can do,  and install it remotely.

The resistance on pushing it up is so great that it kept separating at the connection.

Can it be done?  Yes. Skill level 4 on the model builder scale,  and it hacks your door up pretty good.

I'm looking for a door and regulator.... drivers side....
