Yes, I have a 283 in mine. Easy swap if you have complete engine and a second gen doghouse.

Not a lot more power but it runs out well. I've always liked sb chevy's and know more about them. Parts are still easily available.

The mechanical part is easy-peasy, but you will need side boxes for the exhaust manifolds or a second gen doghouse...
