Recently purchased a 65 G10. After a few hundred miles the shift lever started acting funny. When i'm in first gear the column shifter drops down towards the floor. I have to lift it up towards the steering wheel before I can shift out of first. This has also made it difficult to find neutral from all of the gears. Do I just need to adjust the linkage or is this a bigger issue?

I would start with checking the bushings at the steering column base.

Just for reference the linkage assy at the bottom of the shifter column is called "Transmission Control Assy"
The '65 I had in the '70's (shown in my profile) had the same characteristics - Being a young guy - I did not investigate /repair... I had learned to wiggle, pause, lift & shift - Drove it for years like that.
