Re: Transmission for A100 needed
the tranny on the right has a long tail and has no dog bone on top meaning you would need a cross member and a lot of fab work to be used
the one on the left looks more realistic but the trans shaft on both do not look correct. i will try to post a pic today

Well, a non-used fake account of mine is member of that group. I hate fb & that's the reason not reading there a lot.

Re: Transmission for A100 needed
Hello out of sight
definitely interested in buying the transmission. Have two A100s by now and it would be good to have some rare parts as spares even if we get ours together prior to next year.
I have no idea what to offer. Do not know the market. There was a transmission offerd recently without the hanger for 200 bucks. If yours is complete and working it would be worth more. Does 300 sound reasonable?
Also since we have some vans over here there might be interest in other parts. So maybe we can buy some more from you?? Do you have bumpers for instance? I know a friend is looking for a steering box. if you want to get in touch more direktly use k.karathomas at kicknrush.de

Re: Transmission for A100 needed
Here's a pic of my trans setup. Standard 727 upfront and the short output shaft; seems to what your pic shows on the left.
That means, the cam enters the trans, not the engine. phew.

Re: Transmission for A100 needed
If you're in Germany, there's mopar-forum.de - pretty knowledgeable trans-specialists available.
As was written before, the Auto has no cam into the engine, it has a torque converter, bolted to the flywheel at the rear of the engine. That's the same as with a passenger 318. Truck 318 just has a different oil pan, if I remember correctly (due to front axle?). Where are you located in Germany? I'm near Hannover.
The trans (Loadflite for the trucks) on the A100 is the same as on passenger mopars, but has a short output-shaft (instead of the regular long one). That differs to the D-trucks (long as well, IIRC).
Do you have a parts book for part no's cross-reference?

Re: Transmission for A100 needed
I haven’t decided as of yet, she’s a solid running van that I think is worth more in parts. I am pulling the motor to rebuild, and go into another project, so the van will most likely not go back together after that. If you are serious make me an offer.

Re: Transmission for A100 needed
Hello out of sight what are you gonna do with your transmission once it is out? Will you sell it? Will you replace it? Or will it go back in?
If its for sale I might consider buying it and have it shipped.
Regards from Germany! kris

Re: Transmission for A100 needed
I have an automatic transmission in my running 1968 A100 that I am about to pull out. Too bad I’m so far away to get this to you. I can take pictures of the shaft etc. when it’s out. Hope you have the patience and time for me to pull it out.

Re: Transmission for A100 needed
Is it an automatic or manual? im not quite sure about the "cam going into the motor" so we have a language barrier, what are you describing?
If it's an auto, you should have a torque converter on the front of the trans that's in turn bolted to the flywheel.
If it's manual, it's probably an A745 three speed.
You need to check casting numbers on your motor and identify the trans as well so you (and us) know what you are dealing with.

Transmission for A100 needed
Hello I need a transmission for a 1969 DodgeA100 van. I live in Germany and have bought the van in England. It is a slant 6 conversion. Engine in it is a 318 from a 70s mopar. We have rebuilt a transmission, but the cam goint into the motor is not long enough.
My mechanic is pretty smart on Mopar stuff. But we have no clue why the cam is too short.
So I either need a complete transmission or if anybody knows, how the oroginal one can be replaced properly - any help is welcome.
Can anybody hint at junkyards/sources for transmissions?
Does anybody know if I can use another transmission maybe from the D Series? Are they easier to come by?
Thanx in advance!!! kris
