Still trying to build up a knowledge base before I make a purchase as I likely will only have a few days to get my future a108 or corey up to snuff before doing the west coast trip ( LA <---> Seattle over 2 weeks of sightseeing).
- From what I gather the Scarebird brackets for adding disks to a108 axles will not work without modification/metal work but it can be done. I will need to figure that out in advance
- I suppose an axle swap with something with disk would work but I dont know what steering mods might be needed
- I've been told one of the better ways to make your disk power is to hydroboost them but mounting of the booster and the pump probably takes some ingenuity especially since the 108 will likely have no power steering. Maybe a electric power steering pump going to nothing?
I know the brakes question is a fairly common thread that often goes nowhere but being able to stop reasonably quick on the Pacific Coast Highway is key to this purchase and trip actually happening.
If someone has specifics on their successful conversion I am more than willing to Paypal/Venmo beer money for your expertise.
