Tow truck dropped off the van last night,(just bought of craigs list)don't think by his comments he realized he was hauling a diamond in the rough.70 model 6cyl auto.I hadn't seen it yet so wife and i stopped by the shop at 9 last night on the way home from a wedding to take a look. To most people it looks rough but it's very straight and almost no rust ! Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet but first on the list is to try and get her running and check things out closer.Bonus was when first looking inside I saw the cross flow radiator set up.I guess this could be a fun little side project Not sure we'll find out. Bill

    V8 radiator & surge tank with 6 cylinder....clutch fan too......like mine.

It will run nice & cool. Mine does.

Is your tranny a power-glide or the 3 speed turbo automatic? ( mines a P.G.)

Looks like a good van to put back on the road. Congratz.

    Keep the pics coming.

    Smile

( lucky Oregon people have all the damn vans it seems! )

Well, Having two vans is kinda cool but unfortunatly this one will end up in pieces .It has all the wiring gutted out .I would tackle it if it was as nice as the van kookykrispy just bought .I will always have my 66 thats a forever keeper but when this one is done and gone I will find another one to play with.I love tinkering with these old vans, what a great form of therapy. Bill, you ever considered an AutoWire or Painless to throw in there instead of gettin rid of it? I am finding out,40+ years & different owners plus time takes a toll on a system.Sometimes it'd almost seem woth it instead of headaches of old wire anyway.
For as good as a restore you did on your 1st Gen.,be nice to see you do a second Gen. equal to it.Just my nickles worth.

Nightmoves I wish I had the time ,space and extra money to do another van in the way I'm doing mine now but I've still got a ways to go on my 66 . If i thought this van could be done economicaly I would love to play around with it but I've definitly already got one money pit and don't need another one to this degree. If I had a ton of money (or won a big lottery) I would move and build a nice shop and spend the rest of my days tinkering on my vans and traveling and cruising them.OH YA I guess I better go buy a lottery ticket! There is no way in hell that I'd cut that van up or part it out Sad There's just to many people that would love to start out with a van in that good of condition. Sad
