I'm going to be the first to give myself the 3rd degree for cropping the skirt out of the photo. In my defense I'm uploading this from my phone.

I'll be there for sure. I've helped Don spread the word. I've been getting my van ready for a car show the next day at the nearby Belmont roller coaster the next day.
The weather this weekend is supposed to be clear, sunny, and warm!

Re: Vans at the Bay 7
We had a good turnout in the morning, seemed like all Chevy's, Jose came down from L.A. and brought me some Deluxe emblems he bought in Branson. I gave him some panels he wanted.
It was good to see some of the other Van guys from here also.
I did not get any pictures, I hope someone else took some?
For some reason the group from L.A. showed up kinda late and decided to park up the beach away from where we were waiting for them?
I and a few others brought some parts to share or sell.
Nice day to hang by the water, the sun was out and a nice breeze off of the bay.
I was told it was really hot the more inland you were.
I'm looking forward to seeing the guys again on the 28Th at the El Cajon car show.
Don has reserved the Car club street for the Van's.

Re: Vans at the Bay 7
Here's a few pics from me. It was an awesome ride there from Reseda (L.A./San Fernando Valley). Weather was great. The way back was another story. I was lacking sleep and the daylight left me by the time I hit the road. Some heavy freeway traffic going home. Had to get off a couple of times due to dozing off and rerouting. Got home close to 12am. I really enjoyed meeting up and hanging with everyone. Great weather. Loved our Early Chevy camp We could see the other vans camped off not too far from us. Not sure what happened. Miscommunication? Good turnout for our gm earlies. I think I took pictures a little late and missed 2 of our earlies (one second gen and one first gen sport van) seen in some above pics. It was great meeting you Jacke. Can't wait to see your van soon with fresh paint. I'm excited for you! Great to see donivan again and everyone else. Thanks Russell for some much needed panels. It was great hanging out with you. It was awesome to go back and forth comparing stock differences for different packages on the sportvan's and to see some custom work. Thanks VANagain for a nice treat, hanging out a bit more and making it a full day of vanning at his home base. It was fun.
I think some of the pictures got cut off. Not sure what happened. If someone can help fix them or tips...thanks.

Re: Vans at the Bay 7
We had a beautiful day on Fiesta Island. It turned out to be Chevy Vans by the Bay. There were a few more than shown in these photos. (Not to mention the Orange County 3rd Gen folks down the beach...) And unfortunately, Jacke's van was still in bodyshop jail.
Jose and Ben came to my place to see if they could use any of my spare parts. We had a little class in how to change the wiring to get your running lights up front to stay on with your headlights. Both vans had similar crossed wires on these front lights. And there were a couple fuses that got blown! Sorry Jose to delay your departure. Ben ended up staying even later while we tracked down a multitude of problems with nearly all of his lights--all of which turned out to be bad grounds in several locations! He's got a photo of one rather clever way we found to ensure a good ground on those front lights!
So it was vans, vans, vans all day!
And hey Don, how about we modify the forum layout to have room to show larger photos, like 800 or 1024 wide? I don't think anyone's on dial-up anymore! And monitors have gotten larger/higher resolution. Even our old forum had them larger than 640.
For now, here's a Power-User tip: You can upload larger photos and then choose the thumbnail version (the third choice) to put on your post. OR, you can modify the BBCode it puts in your post to display your photo at 640 wide on the post, but it will be its actual size when someone clicks on it or saves it. Where it has this:
change it to this, adding the parenthesis with the width and height it will be displayed:
The tricky part, though, is you need to calculate that second number, the height. The photo I posted is 1024x652. The easy way is to let your photo editing program figure out the height. Scale the image down to 640 wide, then see what it sets the height to. Then you can undo that or just not save it. Or, here is the mathematical way: height of the original times 640, divided by width of the original equals height of the 640 image.

Re: Vans at the Bay 7
Yeah! We just ran a self-tapping screw right through the chrome light bezel and into the body of the van. Instant good ground!! And totally unnoticeable. (Just don't put the screw where it will interfere with the plastic lens, like our first attempt!)
