Leaf Spring Clamp - G10, 1st Gen

Hi gang,

I would like to confirm a front leaf spring detail.  I am cleaning up my springs and putting in new liners.  On both sides of the van, the bottom / fifth spring down has what I believe is the remains of a broken clamp.   Is it proper to assume the van came with a clamp that wrapped all of the leafs above (same scheme as the third leaf down).

,,,if you got the U bolts cranked down to 95 ft lbs,,,,,,,,I dont think you would notice anything different even if those clamps fell off,,,,,,,,,,
