My guess is that it was man-made flames so that it would look cool when he jumped over the van instead of driving into the van...That's gonna leave a mark!

it was all staged, if you look at the ramp, no way he could of cleared the van and the landing pad was for him, not the bike.

Made for an excellent pic though...that is, except that they wasted a perfectly nice van in the process
