The short of it is that I am 60 and my parents are getting to the point where are needing more help than my little sister can provide. It's just me now and after growing up in the Upper peninsula, then serving 25 years in the Army and being (semi) retired for the last 15 years here in Florida, it to me is just coming full circle in my life and going home. The cold never bothered me. I love the snow and hunting & Ice fishing. I have learned with all the Titanium in my body that the Heat (with high humidity) bothers me more than the cold. So actually a smart health move as well. And with hyper-inflation being like an out-of-control plaque in Florida since half the freakin country is moving here, it is not as enjoyable as it once was...
Dix, I am moving everything into storage in Elk Rapids (17 mi. NE of Traverse City) and renting a cabin on a lake in Gaylord for the summer while I search for a 40-acre, or better property to buy that fits my needs. Tried for the last 4 years from Florida and learned it simply can not be done. You really need to be physically there to have a chance since properties are going "Pending" within days, sometimes hours...

Spotted this early Chevy in New York Friday heading back from picking up a Jeep in PA for my wife. Van was called “Bamboozled and had a pinstripe in the shape of bamboo with a Tiki on the rear door. Sharp looking!!!

Had a 70 GMC that had this type of roof top AC (& caved roof)
was a collection van for the pay phones, for GTE .
side doors were never used.
