Can someone tell me how the filler neck comes out? Got the tank out, all hoses, 3 screws to mount filler neck to body side, the clamp and bolt for attaching the pipe to underside body panel, and the small plate and seal w/3 screws from underneath removed, but the pipe won't come out from below and not through the taillight opening.

Re: Removing Fuel Filler Neck
Well damn, I'll have to try it again in the morning with more patience. Must be one sweet spot where it comes out that I haven't found. Thanks

I've got a question, Can the small vent hose be replaced without dropping the tank ? I have not look at this yet. But have gasoline smell near back of my pickup. And there are no visible leaks.

Re: Removing Fuel Filler Neck
I replaced mine a while back without removing the tank, its a pretty tight squeeze (and filthy) to get the old ose off the barb, and the new on, it can be done. The fill hose on mine didn't leak, but it sure let off fumes. As I pulled it off the tank it tore very easily before I could fully get it off.

Re: Removing Fuel Filler Neck
I tried removing mine the other day, and it's difficult. I may need to raise the back of the van a little higher because I still can't get it out.
When I had removed the hose that connects the tube and tank, a bunch of rust fell out. Now I know that I need to clean out the inside and or replace it. Had I not done this, filling up with gas would have washed it all into my new tank.

Re: Removing Fuel Filler Neck
After a long hiatus, I got back to working on the van yesterday. I guess taking a break was a good thing because I figured out how to remove the fuel filler tube. So for those who need some pictures to explain, here you go. There is a bracket that fits around the tube and is held into place with some small tabs. I tapped upward and it separated easily.

Re: Removing Fuel Filler Neck
It's funny how that sometimes happens when you take a break and things just seem to work out when you come back to it...Thanks for posting pics and explanation, that may help someone else if they run into the same issue in the future.
