On the long list of things to do is paint the interior. Can anyone recommend a good type of paint for to spruce up the dog house? Mine, of course, gets a little warm after awhile and I didn't know if there was a special type of paint to use. Thanks everyone! Looking forward to digging into this forum.

Welcome and congrats on your van! I took my dog house apart and had it powder coated satin black. It turned out well and seems to take the heat and abuse pretty good.

How much that run you if you don't mind me asking... Can you take the dash out and do the same so everything is matching?

I got the Dog house, Heater box, and Step done for $140. The metal part of the dash isn't removable. It's welded in, but most seem to get that painted same as the van color.

The dog house does not get hot enough to need a high-temp paint. I painted mine with a Rust-Oleum rattle can. I like the idea of powder coating it.
