First post, hope this goes right. I'm getting a 69 G10 base panel van going. One small issue I'm having is the horn button. I have all the parts and the horns work when I jump the contact. When I put the cap on with the rubber, the rubber seats in the groove on the cup but at that point the cap is against the steering wheel. so it appears that the cup I have which is about 11/16" deep is not the right cup. it must take a cup that is at an inch deep to leave play to compress and make contact. Anyone out there with a stock wheel and horn assembly willing to measure the depth of the cup?
    Thanks!

Above is the style horn and wheel and the cup that I have.

I want to thank you all because I have gotten a ton of info off this site. I've been working on the van for a couple months since I bought it. Got brakes done, all lights are now working, replaced front turn signals with 68 truck parts, replaced headlight switch, horn relay, reverse switch, brake light switch, tires are good. sourced a tank off ebay and waiting for my sending unit to be rebuilt and returned.
It's a six cylinder 3 speed. It does run but doesn't seem to be charging at least that's what the idiot light says. Temp and oil pressure lights don't seem to be working ... Still have a ton to do but it has been nice having this site. the horn thing finally made me break down and post!
