Plywood from Home Depot, carpet from Lowes and it all comes together in a good friend’s back yard.

I like that idea, Oldpro! Nice job! I wonder if laying a couple removable carpet panels on the floor would be beneficial, rather than fixing it to the floor! I'm a few months away from that point, so you'll need to share some results later!

Awesome. If I get to that point, I just hope I can remember to carpet the correct side of the plywood. Smile

    Removable Panels Pros and Cons

    Pros
    -e-z removal
    -e-zer to clean
-If the carpet is damaged, you only have to remove the one piece and replace less carpet (If both pieces are damage, then it’s just the same as doing the carpet in one piece, nothing lost, nothing gained)

    Cons
    -Seam in the floor
    -more cutting to do
    - you have to cut each piece just right, or in might fit weird.(Same thing for a whole piece)
    - might move a little if not cut right

If you can think of any more, add to it.

I never thought of doing the way you have done it. I have to say I think the pro's out weight the con's in what you have done.

Here a few for the Pro's
Our vans are old and you just don't know if something may need repaired under that carpet. Being patching etc... And think if the wood was glued down or screw to the floor the work that would have to be done just to get at the problem. Plus screwing down the wood would just be inviding rust on the undercarriage.
