There are a "lot" of parts into making the window operate correctly. Common culprits are the inside door channels becoming unfastened or jammed up and or the regulator itself gets some wear. Other than handles finding new may be a bit of a task. Macsdoghouse on VCVC does some rebuilding of the regulators if needed.

I agree with Digz. There's a lot that can be messed up in a 50 year old van. Pull the inside door panel off and look inside the door to see if you can tell what's wrong. Check out "Dans Classic Parts" for window and door handles and the rollers for the regulator. Window felt kits are on e-bay.

The whole felt track can be an issue also. You can but a window fuzzy kit.
The rear track channel in the lower part of the door get brocken off its lowest mount or bent.

    show some pictures.

I might have some parts for you.

okay took panel off yesterday the felt guides are done.sprayed a little silicone on the wheel and track and that seemed to help.
will the felt in the side guides keep it running parallel when you roll it down ?what stops it from getting cockeyed ?

I'm having problems with my drivers side. every thing is good going down but when I go to roll it up the window wants to tilt forward and doesn't want to go up. I think the window support ( metal part that is on the bottom of the glass)is not in the right place, maybe to far forward? or to far back? I've got a work to do if I find out anything soon I'll let you know.

The front channel that divides the vent window from the one that rolls down should have a bolt at the bottom from inside the door. The channel at the back of the door also should be bolted at the top and bottom. In Donivan's picture, the bottom of #2 has a bracket that sticks out. Both of them in my van were broken off. I took them out and had them welded.

    Thanks M1D
Its appears #2 is stable at the bottom but the # 6 moulding doesnt want to stay in the track.
that said when i reached in and held it in place and operated the window it still wouldnt work properly.i guess i should go for the new felts, rubber , etc.
wheres the best place to purchase these ?
    cheers
