    I cant seem to find a gas tank sending unit, tried Carpenters, Macs and Rockauto. Who has one for a 62. Thanks.

    You might try rebuilding yours as well. There's a post on here about it somewhere. Basically you bend those tabs open on the cover of the resister mechanism and clean it and make sure it's getting good contact, bend if needed. Also make sure the tank and sending unit are grounded properly and ground out the sending unit wire with someone at the gauge and make sure it's responding.

    Thanks guys, I got my tank and sending unit out, tank looks almost brand new inside. I might try to rebuild my sending unit ,it dosnt look that bad either and I have that rebuild tech saved somewhere.But is that big glop of ? supposed to be on the screen?

    ,,,I am thinking that the screen was ripped and someone put some Epoxy on it to fix it,,,,,,,

    I'm thinking the old gas formed that big glop on the screen. Replace the screen and your "vapor lock" should go away.
