Good morning from Oregon, Thanks to W for the nice welcome on the other 'new owner' post a few down.

I recently purchased a '68 A-100 from the estate of one of my best friends Aric who sadly passed away 2 years ago. Aric and I are/were avid Mopar heads. My avatar is a picture of it out on a farm in Newberg. We used to go dirt=biking in that van. So I decided I need to get it out of the blackberrys and into my garage. Unfortunately I need to make room and that means storing my 1970 Challenger somewhere else. This Challenger is my first car and I have owned it 31 years. Its restored. I tried to post a picture of it but two times I lost my text I had typed so this time I am just going to introduce myself. My name is John and I am getting ready to move this A-100

Hey John!  Maybe we'll meet up someday.  I visit Portland every few years.  Looks like we got our vans the same week. It'll be cool to see what you do to yours.

On a side note I'm the guy who stole one of your Iconic weird statues a couple of years back.  It was on the news out there when I was in town.

You had a famous gold statue of a huge muscle man in your town for many years. City codes had changed and the gym that has him had to get rid of him.  I flew out and rented a 32 foot truck and trucked him home nearly three thousand miles!

    wierd gold giant leaves town

you guys are great. Looking at the possibility of changing up the slant 6 to small block. The motor mounts online I see are for 273. assuming that they will fit all small blocks 318/360. Yes?

If you can find a stock 273 Formula S, those motors are little screamers. I'd take one of those over a stock 318 any day. BTW - even though I'm on the Early Econoline side of the forum, I've always been a Mopar pony/muscle car fan and owner.

The 273,s are solid lifters , not a big deal but something to consider on the maintenance  side. I would like to some day go with a 360 with port injection. You need the v8 motor bracket's also .

Don't know if I will swap or not but considering it. Need to get it running and driving before I consider next steps. Also, Aric and I were best friends and the /six in the A100 is the original 225 from my Challenger so I have a considerable emotional interest in the engine. pretty obvious my first car challenger was swap /6 for big block v-8 back in the day. Today they call it 'restification' but in the day we called it V-8 envy.

Finally got the Dodge home. Was not able to get it here on its own because of fuel issues. Tow truck placed it perfectly up my steep driveway and in the garage. going to get more active on this forum now she is home. Old Mopar head new van owner Dsc09410

What is crazy is my profile picture is from 2015 and the pic from my garage shows just how much the elements have taken their toll in just a few years

It's a nice tribute to the friendship that you and Aric shared. Memories like that are good motivation to preserve one of these gems that brought you so much fun in the past. Good luck with your new project and please keep us posted with updates! What a Face cheers
