can anyone tell me the difference beteween a 240 and a 300 head, I know compression is different but what about runners and valves? I have a 300 to rebuilt and I don't know if I use a 240 or the 300 head.

Valves look like they are the same head diameter, but the 300s are some type of stainless/monel. 240 valves attract a magnet a little but 300s don't attract at all. I haven't cc'd the chambers but the 300 looks like it has a smaller chamber due to it's heart shape and may ave a higher compression. The valves are not the same length so push rods and may be different. The rockers are different.
