Camber? Wheel Aligment Empty Camber? Wheel Aligment

Post by LittleDoheny Mon Mar 09, 2015 8:25 am

Hey everyone, been a little while. My 1967 Chevy Van, tires are worn inside, it is a "camber" issue. I went to the wheel aligment shop, they say that the van has no adjustment for this;to check the auto stores for camber pins, they didn't have any.
My question is can they be put on?
    Where do you buy them?
If not.. how do I correct the tire wear issue?
P.S. Someone mentioned the "axle" slagging possibly, bending a little bit.
Is this true, has anyone had their front axle re-bent to make the adjustment right?

Hope this gives you all the info you need, look forward to the response.

these vans do not have any provisions for camber angles
so the axle has to be bent in order to adjust. check with a
larger truck shop close to you and see if they can align
a solid axle front I beam vehicle.

I would think it would be a toe issue more likely than a camber issue

Panelman is correct!! dont guess!! Find an older alignment shop with some old guy in it!! He will know whats needing to be done!! Truck alignment shops are good too. Here in spokane there is one of these old guy type shops -he aligns everything from street rods to motorhomes. I had a car done a few years back there!! Everyone else here charges 85-120 bux for an alignment & doesn't do straight axles! He charges $35.00 bux for everything except big motorhomes! he gets 50 for those!! He also has a waiting list 3 weeks long!!
