    Nice to have clean metal

The only problem I found was the side front door that takes the stress of deploying and retracting the step takes a real beating at its lower hinge. Especialy when the step is half seized. So I welded the cracks and added a thick doubler.

Yes those gaskets are a pain. I clean the new rubber with isopropal alcohaul and put them on the sheet metal then I lightley lube the hinge with a silicone grease like Dow Corning "DC 4". That helps. Some of them will never fit perfect and thats fine because I am going for the factory look and well little to nothing was perfect when these vans came out of the factory.

the wet look is the Dinatrol AV-8 corrosion proofing I used. cleans off with varsol, drys to a waxy shellack like coat after 24 hours  of flowing and penatraiting the seams.
