1986 fiero seats
Reading about Fiero seats bolting in with minimal mods. Do 1986 Fiero seats fall iinto this category?

Re: 1986 fiero seats
Highly recommend the Fiero seats, put a pair in my 64 and love em. Went in easy and leave room to open the doghouse lid. I drove 5 hours to "Crusin the Coast" in October and really liked the way they sat.

Re: 1986 fiero seats
Use the Econoline mountings. 2 holes line up and you only have to drill 2 more. Fred Carello can give more specifics as he has done it a lot.

Re: 1986 fiero seats
I have installed them in 61-64 and 65-67 vans/pickups. same basic procedure. I used the Fiero tracks and ground the rivets that hold the mounting brackets and removed them. By drilling one hole in each Fiero track they will bolt to the Econoline brackets. The driver's side outer holes in the fenderwell lined up but the inner holes in the floor needed to be moved. The passenger holes in the fenderwell had to be moved inward and the holes in the floor had to be moved also. On all year trucks I used the inner driver's side mounts from 65-67 on both sides and the outer passenger side 61-67 or outer driver side 61-64. By using bolts as studs in the floor the nut spaces the inner support high enough to let the seat sit level

Re: 1986 fiero seats
Used fabric covered PT Cruiser seats and tracks in my 65. Similar mods to Fiero seats, but fit well.
Can't keep the PT armrests, since they interfere with the doghouse lid. I just covered the invasive
armrest mounts with some fabric similar to seat material. Looks great, and comfy. Bonus: PT seats are much easier to find than Fiero.

Re: 1986 fiero seats
I bought some nice Honda Del Sol seats from the wrecker for $50 a piece.
They fit well and need some some rail hole drilling but minor and look good IMO.
They have that classic look to em with good support.

Re: 1986 fiero seats
Slightly wider than stock so I welded a tab on the bracket so the bracket could line up with the stock holes, 1.5" off.
They do no impede with the doors or doghouse lid however.
