Hey Xelmon, Are you bleepin, bleepin me. You took the carcus of the white van to the scrap yard. How much did you get for it 50.00 maybe. I'd of bought 500.00 worth of stuff of the the white van. We can't be throwing anything away anymore. I got sick to find out you junked the carcusNo I'm more than sick I'm angry that someone would be that shortsighted.

Re: SELL THOSE PARTS
Hey give the guy a break, I don't know all the details, but I do know Xelmon recently made a move from Portland, OR to Los Angeles, CA. Maybe he didn't have time or space or the means to part it out before he had to move?
Besides, he scrapped that van in Oct 2013, that was way before you were even registered as a member here. Before he scrapped it, he offered parts for sale to everyone here. Not many takers, so the hulk got scrapped.
I've scrapped out a few vans, I sold some parts off of them to people, but when they eventually become an eyesore in the yard, its time to go! We can't keep this stuff cluttering up our yards forever... some landlords are more forgiving than others. My current landlord is hella cool, but in the past, I've gotten evicted before for this kind of thing.
After they get scrapped, someone always comes after the fact wanting parts that are already gone. The moral of the story is if someone is parting a van, get out your wallet and buy those parts today, because it might be gone tomorrow!!!

IF THERE'S SOMETHING YOU NEED JUST POST IT IN THE PARTS WANTED SECTION. Most of the time someone will have it and probably closer than coast to coast.

Re: SELL THOSE PARTS
Didn't know the timeline, have two posts for some front end parts in the "parts wanted" section. I apologise publically to Xelmon. I honestly get sick when I see old van stuff get crushed.

Re: SELL THOSE PARTS
Doug, apology accepted.
Trust me, if I could have I would've hung onto it until the last bit has been cut-up or turned to ashes.
Story goes that until March 2013 I was holding onto the van, trying to figure out if I could find another van and just graft a new top on. After I found the GMC, Whitey's fate was sealed and was promptly moved to my buddies place out in the country. It sat there for a good half a year, until 2 things came about.
* The wife of the buddy was going "Could we... Get rid of that now? Please?"
* I got a job offer in LA in Oct 2013.
By that time several pieces have been taken off. Like Kooky said, I offered a good few times to take any bits off of it that people wanted. Nobody bit, I took a few pieces myself, then hauled her off myself.... It was super sad.
