Anyone know how to adjust the speedometer should we change the tire size form 14 to 15? What do people typically do in that circumstance? Thanks.

the driven gear on the end of the speedometer cable usually can be changed to adapt the speedometer to different rear end ratios, tire and wheel sizes,,,,,,

Or, you can by a Ratio Adaptor] to increase/reduce it.  Based on calcs, I cannot change drive/driven gears in my TH350 enough to get my speedo close, so I just installed one.

    Sweet. Thanks guys.

Neal, I spent 2 months in Memphis making a record back in my rock and roll days. Loved it. Still get up there a fair amount going to bike rallies to pinstripe.

Just get a buddy in a modern car to drive along side of you at different speeds and tell you what the actual speed is, then you will know if you are showing faster or slower than it says and about by how much! Then at least you know if you are speeding or not...

Another way is if you or a friend has a smart phone with GPS feature. It will calculate your speed.

The 14" to 15" wheel means nothing. It's the tire diameter that will make the difference.

my speedometer is reads 60mph when i'm going 58. that's close enough for me. i check it all the time with my gps. my tires are 255/60/15's. don't know if that helps.

I did some research and came up with a good program on my droid that is very accurate for MPH. " GPS Essentials"  and the best part s it's a free download.  It is also fun to track elevation but it does suck on the battery.  Happy Vannin'.  Jerry

Still waiting on rocker panels. After that it's crunch time. I'm putting the van in the local World of Wheels show in February
