okay gang, I own a european restoration shop and our primary focus is german and Italian cars. On a personal level the guys and I own a lot of Fords and Chevys. Anyway a few of us own econlines and G series. We love going to Viva Las Vegas every year and we decided to bring a few of our own rigs this year. One 65 three window econoline truck and I own a 67 econoline van. Well, we produce a lot of DIY videos for Alfa Romeos and we thought it might be fun to do a story line on the build of my 67 van from start to finish. The 65 is done more or less, but my van is just starting. So we decided to start making a video story line on it. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks Jim. One of my guys is a well known pinstripe artist and painter. We were looking at the the van today with the wheel color and decided a whole psycho-60/70's gold, root beer browns and lots and lots of flake theme. Sounds promising.... stay tuned.

Will do! The theme is going to not be many peoples liking but it serves a personal purpose. Had my paint supplier in today and we tech'd some trick colors. I might go in to the shop this weekend and spray out one test panel of the lesser used color and see how it looks. The primary color will be a root beer brown with large tangerine or apricot flake. However the minor color is a candy green gold and I want to see about tricking it as well. Now, I am putting the cart way, way ahead the horse here. But having a clear build plan is best as early as possible. One thing I will do this weekend is finish the roof repairs and size up the rag top dimensions so I can order it up. What is still open for debate is large white walls, or raised white letters, or red stripe tires.....

Okay I will be in the shop tomorrow (saturday) and might film it. I will see about filming some of the "efforts". I plan to paint a test panel of the minor color with and without a green candy tri coat. Also plan on finishing the roof repairs and map out the rag top sizing..... Assuming the wife does not call me with preverbal "what time you coming home"...... "its your time with the kid"..... Loosely translates to "I want to go to the spa with the girls"....

Well......after mulling it over all weekend. All involved in this build (and I) slightly redirected the plan. I ordered up some special micro flake today. Tangerine, root beer and two different golds. They all will be blended for effect. This has pushed the color layout to a different direction. The minor color is now going to be something I have never tried. It will be cream white with gold flake submerged under translucent white candy. Failure for effect is high on this scheme. The primary color will still be root beer with tons of the micro flake blend. And then Michael will pinstripe it. But only for effect not a lot. We will be bringing in his near complete econo truck. Very cool truck, I'm sure guys will like

UUUUUgh! Life has gotten the way !!!! However, the tires arrived today. And like I said, life has gotten in the way. I went to put them on the tire changer in my shop and the wife calls " I need you to pick up the girl from school".... I have been waiting for ever it seams like to get the tires and was dying to mount them and fit them to the van.... and... life... got.... in ... the.... way!!!! I am only focusing the rears right now incase I need to create clearance. The roof however is all welded up, and now I need to order the rag top. The color scheme changed again... I want to get in the shop this weekend and make some major progress but my old College (N.C.State) big rival game is this weekend so....Life is getting in the way.

Tell me about it Seth, I just finished prepping four birds for the deep frier. But at least I did get the rear wheels mounted. I will try to "sneak" down to the shop over the next few days to install them.
