    I would say 153 4 cylinder and 230 6 cylinder,,,,,
It should be on the plate below the lower drivers side hinge.

A standard 1965 G1001 Handi-Van had either a 153 or a 194. The 230 was an option. But like Donivan said, who knows if its the original.

    1963 GMC and 1964-5 G10's came with 153 4 banger or the
optional 194 HT 6 banger. The 230 wasn't offered as an factory option until late 1966.

Yes Don your right, but your knowledge and contribution to the member’s of this site does warrant a “Prestigious Title” of some sort…. Just glad you’re here and can’t begin to tell you how much you’ve helped me along the way but I can say it has saved me “A LOT” of frustration, so thank you…

The codes are right by where the bolt that holds the distributor is. But I don't have too much faith in that system. There are also casting numbers by the dipstick but the most reliable way is when the head is off,,,,,,measure the bore and stroke,,,,,the 194, 230 and 250 are all different and easy to tell apart,,,,,and the 153 is a little 4 cylinder,,,,,,the 292 is a real tall engine and its right motor mount is in the wrong place,,,,
