Gastank photos?
I own a 1967 Dodge A100 Custom Sportsman van, I need some photos of the original gas tank that would fit this van. It needs to show the location of the filler hole and sending unit hole location. Plus I need the over all size of the tank.

Re: Gastank photos?
The stock tank has the filler hole at the bottom center.

Re: Gastank photos?
My 64 A-100 van isn't in a good position to photograph at the moment, but I had the tank out over the summer so I'll try to describe it. The filler neck is located at the lower left corner on the backside of the tank. The sending unit is also on the backside between the tank center and filler. There is also a vent connection on the top of the tank that connects to the filler tube via rubber hose. Hope this helps

Re: Gastank photos?
I finally found an original Dodge A100 gas tank, but it has holes and needs to be acid washed and a plastic tank formed inside that will hold gas. There is NO radiator shop in Santa Barbara anymore, closest shop is 45 miles away and is closed on the weekends. Anyone near Santa Barbara know of a good radiator shop, that could redo my old tank?

Re: Gastank photos?
Since you asked for photos and no one else posted them, how about posting a couple of pics of your tank so the forum has access to a good view of one...

Re: Gastank photos?
I have located a radiator shop in Oxnard California ( about 40 miles south of here) that does gas tanks, except they are only open Monday thru Friday which are the same days that I work. Looks like I am going to have to take a vacation day off to take it down there to have it done.

Re: Gastank photos?
That's definitely the right tank. If the radiator shop is anything like the place that handled my tank then it will take a couple days for the process. You may have to plan 2 trips.

Re: Gastank photos?
I am trying to work out a deal with a semi truck driver friend of mine who delivers to the place where I work. His company yard is within 2 miles distance from the radiator shop in Oxnard. He is also a car guy, who knows all about the gas tank refurbishing I need.

Re: Gastank photos?
Bugeye Bob, do you mind telling me what you paid to have your tank cleaned? Did you have a plastic liner installed inside your tank?

Re: Gastank photos?
I paid $100 (+tax) to have mine cleaned and lined. I peeked inside the tank when I swapped in a new sending unit the other day and everything looked good. They also applied some sort of thick black coating to the outside, but it dissolves in gasoline.
If you need a sending unit, try one of these from eBay. That's what I just stuck in mine and seems to work pretty well. It doesn't say on that page, but mine came with the gasket and and locking ring.

Re: Gastank photos?
UPDATE: The Dodge A100 original tank that I recently received cannot be used, it is compleatly rotted out with rust. It cannot be lined with plastic, so I am now looking to have a brand new one made locally. So disappointing!

I paid $125 at a radiator shop to have mine vatted and coated inside, works very well.
