Vinyl Wrap an Early? Empty Vinyl Wrap an Early?

    Post by a100_Bubba Sat Jul 19, 2014 1:26 pm

Has anyone Vinyl Wrapped their Early? A number of Youtube vids showing how, with a number of exotic cars shown with some radical colors. I've seen many newer vans wrapped with advertisement...but I could only find this Mercedes with a chrome wrap. Seems to last 10 years and can be waxed-buffed-and taken care of as most paints. The chrome colors are sick but I'm afraid might be too much bling for a large sided Early (not to mention what do do with A100's sexy door hinges). I found a local dealer who covers SUV's for about $1160 for non chrome colors with $360 more for Chrome Colors. I might contact him to see what one of my vans would cost to do. I have seen a few cars with pasti-kote but like the longevity and chrome options that wrapping seems to offer.
I found a great vette forum that has a guy spending about $600 to get/do his own wrap (many company's make the vinyl). He went Black Matte http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-general/2928371-vinyl-wrapping-diy-tutorial-lengthy-and-major-pics.html

I am interested in your input.... If this has already been discussed here in the forum please link me to the discussion.

    Thanks!

my truck is wrapped. my buddy has a company that does them. i do not suggest doing it yourself. it takes a level of skill and talent to do it properly and make it look good.

    wraps look good!

heck i can't decide what color to paint my A let alone come up with a idea of a what i would want as a wrap, of course some advertising scheme that would add some $$$ in my wallet wouldn't be bad idea and who doesn't look at at a vintage van rolling down the road.

I have seen some wraps that look great, bottom line is you need a pretty good base to start with. I looked at it on magic but I had to get the paint down first to wrap it. And then that just became more money..

I think creativity is the key word here, dont just wrap it to be wrapping it. Find somebody like my wife, NOT my wife, to design it so it catches the eye and flows nicely, and you'll be a happy camper.
