Im sure one of you knows a trick or something on how to remove the doors off my van, I tried hitting the pin like a regular door but its not moving and i dont want to hit it harder and find out thats no how they are removed, thanks for your help in advance!

Also if one of you could go into the rear doors of your truck and measure the distance between the door pillars on top and on the bottom, Im trying to re-square mine up, thanks so much!

Here are the measurements I got, assuming that they are correct.
Does not look like there were ever repairs made
    Top - just below drip rail - 50 7/8
    Top door hinges - 51 1/4
    Bottom door hinges - 51 3/8
    Bottom of opening - 51 3/8
    Corner to corner
    71" one way - 70 7/8" the other. Pretty close I'd say.

Fish...that's exactly how I got the doors off my 65. I just used a punch and drove the pins out. A few of them were a little stubborn but finally gave in.

I just changed the pins on one of Magics door.. did alot of head scratching and asking quiestions, no way would they come out while the door was still on the van, I would have beat the #_#_#!** out of it and ruined it.

I checked into pin removal tools and other options, As it turns out I took the door off and turned it upside down, resting the head of the pin inside a 1/2" steel pipe about 3 foot long,  which was sitting on an anvil, (here is where its nice to have a helper to hold the door steady) then proceeded to give it a good lick with a steel drift/punch, and a hammer and about the third hit it started moving.. Needless to say I used some penentrating oil to prepare that fiasco...

Then the bad part was mine were wallowed out and I had to order oversized pins from Macs..Drilled them out and then it was good...nothing is ever easy with this thing.

If its any encouragement, some people say they just hit em with a punch and they pop right out, NOT MINE!

The title was "Removing doors from hinges", but the question was removing the doors, and for sure the easiest way is to unbolt the hinges from the body.

Duh, sometimes one cant see the forest for the trees! I guess I jumped to the hinge pin situation because he said he had already smacked em.

Ok thanks guys, I did see there were bolts, but I think since Im working on the door frame alignment its important to keep the hinges on but the doors off (they are pretty heavy and influence the door frame when they are open or closed) the bottom of the pan is rolled up a bit so I have to address that first then square the opening, the left door pillar is about .75 shorter than the right one, so its going to be tough to get it exactly right is also been knocked off is orginal location so the whole set is kind of of trial and error.

CraigK thanks for taking the time to do that it has been very helpful, with that information I have a chance at getting this right.

take the door off and flip it a
use a heavy wall one inch tube and smack the pin out supporting the hinge with the tube. John
