Anyone here have an autometer tach. My problem is when the rpm's are over 1000 the tach is stable. If it's warm and the idle is 650-700 the tach jumps all around. The minute I hit the gas the tach stables and no longer jumps...... Anyone ? Anyone?  scratch

Are you using a tach adapter? Do you have a good ground? Six cylinder or eight?

Not sure about the tach adaptor. I'll check the ground and it has a 302. I don't know what to look for as far as an adaptor... Sounds crazy but I didn't do the engine work. Would the ground be at the tach or the distributor?

There should be a groumd wire coming from the tach. I have an MSD ignition box on my 302 and don't need the adapter.
