Hi everybody, new member here, and a new owner of a 65 chevy Van. First off what do I have? Title says B 1965, and the style SL ... I was told it was a g10. Next I need mirrors, drivers door latch guts inside of door, emergency brake cables. This window van is a 6 door, 3 speed on tree, 6 cyl that has been sitting for years but runs and drives really good for being almost 50 years old. I have put oil on anything and everything that moves and it's smoothing out and working better. I might have to sell it due to I have to many projects, but I love the attention it gets. Thanks in advance for any and all information and ideas. This is my first Van...

G1265P... It has just SportVan on the sides under the little windows. It looks like there was a step on the side. It does have pop out windows on both sides. I do have headlight bezels, not chrome. I was told it has a 250 engine. I found a metal tag, drivers side that says paint 526aa, Trim 613aa. No chrome anywhere except around the front turn signals. The guy I got it from sent pics of it before he worked on the body and it was just green. When I got it, it was primer gray...

I already painted it red with black bumpers, and she's looks great. Having problems finding stock outside mirrors... I might have to go with mirrors like you have on your red van. I also can't seem to get pics on here.

which door do you need parts for? stock mirrors are out there, there are
3 types 2 are jr west coast mirrors and the 3 rd is what`s called a swan neck
mirror and they are very hard to find an kind of pricey. e brake cables are out
there but only for the rears the front is really hard to find.
do an ebay search for the year of your van, also look at vcvc.org
it is also a website for early chevy vans, lots of parts there also, just have
to ask.
might also put your request for parts in the parts wanted section.
whenever I part one of these girls out that is where I go to see if
anybody needs anything I have available. oh an welcome. kcmo resident also

VCVC moderator has to "approve" your membership, takes about 4-5 days, e-mail them again, welcome...I'm in both forums, very useful and you should be able to find the parts you need here and there. I found the front e-brake cable on eBay, they come up from time to time...find the engine casting number on the side above the starter and google it for chevy 6 block lists, that will tell what you have, unless it was swapped, a '65 probably has a 230 engine...

Best bet is to buy a sheet of gasket material and make your own. Cheap and self gratifiing
