I am nosing around for interesting wheels..  I want black tire on a wide 13.
These wheels are available in 13x7, any offset, any bolt circle with a chrome rim, raw center, and then I could have the centers powder coated off white.

Is there a fitment issue with 7" wide 13s?

Shouldn't be but it always comes down to the tire size moreso than the rim, but with a 13" x 7" there's alot of room there. Can I ask why you want to go with 13" instead of 15"? I mention it b/c 13" rims will keep you from being able to convert the front brakes to disc's if you so choose.

look mostly ..  I was imagining a low, slouchy, fat tire look.  I was asking about rim width, and any potential interference with mechanical parts at that diameter.

I have 15x7s with 195/50/15s on my 1975 bmw 2002, which also came with 13s, and the look is nice. But that wheel set up is...'perky', as compared to 13s with 205s.  I was hoping to pull off a small rim baloony black wall tire thang, and the van will be lowered later.

I hear you about the disc brake conversion, that's exactly why I am on 15s with the BMW.

So you want more meat on the rim? If you ran 17's it would look more like the beamer there, I've considered that. 7" isn't a problem, you can even go 8" w/ stock setup all around depending on section width and rim offset. Actually you can get away with 8" in the front and 9" in the back if careful about it. I have some measurements I've taken off the hubs on real width limits on my van. I'll try and find them.

After a fairly deep tire search, there isn't much available beyond 185/13s unless you want a track tire, or want to pay Coker prices for a vintage tread. Like, a grand for four tires. L no.

Also, while they do not list the "D window" wheel center in a 15" rim option, they have them in stock at Diamond. So the vision I was having for the chrome/creme look could be achieved in a 15X7 config. But the more I look at the stock wheel look, the more I like it. Too bad Stockton wheel shut down. wonder if diamond wheel would re-weld my centers into an offset that would push the stock rim out some... ?

I need to stay focused on getting the steering and suspension refurbished before even seriously looking at wheels.

13 tires are hard to find,14's are even getting tough to locate. I would go 15 if possible. I can show you 16's here on a van. A buddy here in Cincy cut and widened his 15" Galaxy rims for a deep dish look that fits the stock hubcap for his 61 Econo.

Its the age old thread about that its the OD of the tire as far as lowering a truck goes. You can get much better tread and tire selections in 15" than any other and fit larger brakes in at the same time. Point I am making is perhaps you can get close or closer in the OD that you want, but in 15" tires. Wont bore everyone again about the 16.5 story,,, LOL..
Anyways,, I didn't also hear you mention front or rear??? On my rears I will be running 8" Cragers in the rear but will have to ROLL the lips so they will clear, on the fronts the widest I would use would and will be my 6" Cragers,,,,,
The issue with ours is the lower front corner on the fronts. On one of mine I moved the axle rear ward 1" so that I could run bigger tires and get some room there without chopping up the wheel well to do it.

Tim,,,,,   I used a masonry carbide drill bit and drilled a new hole for the spring pack bolt. The bolt being nothing more than a grade 8 with the head ground down to use as an alignment dowel. The spring material almost impossible to drill.
Previously, I had already moved the ball joint by cutting a new taper on the top of the steering arm and had made an adjustable drag link. (left/right)

I'm sticking with the skinneys.  Until the day they stop selling all-weather 185/13s.  We've fallen in love with the look. Besides, I can't even imagine how bad it would follow ruts with bigger meats. The new shocks helped, but man, front end/steering on this this needs serious refreshing.
