Diamond in the Rust 69 A100
Well digz finally caved in and sold me his 69 a100. For those that dont know im digz son in law Randy. Ive helped Digz with his bodywork on his 65 orange rat the last cpl yrs. The dodge is going to take alot of rust repair and even more rust repair. I started pecking at it and made a small hole for starts, the weather has turned from spring to winter again here in michigan so havent got much done other than what u see. Ill keep pics rolling once the weather turns nicer(next week I hope).

Welcome to the site!!!! You did some fine work on Joe's van and I believe you can save this one. Keep us posted with updates. Being in Michigan also I feel your pain on the weather. Be sure to come to Baker's this year with Joe

Re: Diamond in the Rust 69 A100
I made a little head way today. Got most of the passenger side metal work all done. Just have to wrap the back corner around and cut out the rest of the front wheel well. Got out the chemicals and got most of the side down to metal. I wanted to start laying out some fiberglass filler tonight but my best friend died today (my angle grinder) he will be missed. So tomorrow ill have to go get a new one and hopefully get my welds covered.

Re: Diamond in the Rust 69 A100
Well havent had much time to work on the dodge but i did manage to get all the metal work done on this side minus the bottom of the door. Now just have to spend a good day to get the rest of the filler work done and this side will be ready for some primer.
Then ill have to spend some time cleaning up the inside of the bedsides
Then i get to do it all over again on this side
Now i trying to figure out if i want to use a etching primer or a poxy, since most of the body will have a skim coat of filler dont know if etching primer is the way to go. Ill prob get the body work done and just tool around town with it, not going to see paint til next spring so if u guys have any tips on which primer would be the best id like to hear it

Re: Diamond in the Rust 69 A100
Randy . I saved what was good on the rear wheel arches, The leading side might be short but the rest is okay if you need it. You also have a good set of front springs !

I plan to etch prime mine ,followed by a coat of epoxy primer to seal it as it awaits painting later down the road.
