Engine Casting Nubers anyone?

I posted something recently about engines, a member replied to look up the engine size ( I don't know mine thats why I was inquiring) and he posted these 2 links...

where exactly on the engine did you get this#?
if you scrape the machined pad near the where the dist
enters the block you will find a series of stamped numbers
and letters this will identify your engine, some 230 and 250
use the same casting #s

That is not your block casting number, I think its from your intake manifold?

The block number is on the lower side of the engine next to the dipstick, but that link says that manifold was found on a 230 so that's probably what you have...and some 230-250's share the same block casting, they increased the displacement through the head, rod and stroke on those dual size blocks, but I don't thing they put those motors in vans/trucks, you should be able to find yours by the number on the side.
