Hey guys, I tried to put this in the parts section last night but it didn't show up.  Anyway check out this gas tank:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/330548792252

It looks like it would fit a 2nd gen van, if I end up ordering one I'll put up some pictures.  If anyone else beats me to it let us know how it works out!

Well, you have plenty of ground clearance to not worry about depth.lol
Your van looks good setting up like that.May fit up in there ok,but don't quote me on that. And with it being for a '67-'72,the Ohms for the sending unit should be the same as you need for the van,90 Ohm.
But...a member has/had a 2nd gen gas tank for sale in Bowling Green Ky. recently.May wanna pm him and see if he still has it.

Hey Nightmoves (nice handle by the way, good song and good van name!), I checked out that link and it goes to a small scale model of a suburban or something. It's neat but I don't think it'll cool my engine down though, haha!  Very Happy   I'd be keen on an original 2nd gen gas tank if the price was right but I'm pretty excited about this plastic one too because it's 21 gallons and it cant rust!  It's true I have no depth clearance issues but I do have width issues because of the way I've lifted the van.  Either way there'll be some trimming, but this tank looked really close to the dimensions of the stock one so I wanted to let everyone know there may be another option for replacing their old nasty ones.  Maybe if there's a little extra cash after the bills this month I'll give it a shot!

If you need a tank for a 2nd gen, look at 1988 G10 van 22 gal.
thats what I put in my 65 also

    M1,
What's the sending unit situation on this?

the sending unit solution for the 1988 G van 22 gal tank is two fold. you can get the FI sender that mounts a fuel pump, into the tank or you can get the "Carberated" sender. both use the 90 ohm gauge reostat.

Do Y'all think this gas tank will work? P1040915

it hangs a litle lower because you have to space it down for the surge dome to have clearance.

you also have to relocate the filler bung.
